peaq Enables Autonomous Economic Actors in the Machine Economy
peaq is an economic system designed to enable machines, including robots and devices, to become autonomous economic actors. This is made possible through a neutral, omnichain coordination layer that provides verifiable identities, wallets, portable reputation, tokenization, and cross-chain settlement guarantees.
The system consists of three layers: the Machine Layer (peaqOS), the Trust Layer, and the Service Layer. The Machine Layer provides access to services across different chains, while the Trust Layer makes machines trustworthy by managing shared registries, claims, and settlement logic. The Service Layer connects machines to external service markets through a permissionless adapter framework.
The peaq token is used for various purposes, including machine activation, coordination fees, validator staking, and governance. Machine Money Markets are financial layers that allow machines to autonomously access lending, liquidity, yield, and credit services.
