Pete Hegseth's Financial Disclosures Reveal Modest Bitcoin Holding
Pete Hegseth's financial disclosures have revealed details about his personal investments and asset restructuring in 2025. The filings show that Hegseth's combined assets in cash, retirement accounts, and Bitcoin reached at least $3.1 million. His Bitcoin holding is estimated to be between $16,000 and $65,000, representing a modest portion of his overall financial portfolio.
The document shows that no Bitcoin purchases or sales occurred above $1,000 during the covered period, suggesting that Hegseth's approach to cryptocurrency remained passive throughout the reporting year. His holding value stayed largely unchanged in this range.
Hegseth sold positions in major defense companies, including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Honeywell, as well as private equity firms KKR and Blackstone, soon after he began his role in January 2025. He then focused new allocations on broad market index funds for the remainder of 2025.
The filing also reports two mortgages secured against a personal residence, each with a value between $1,000,001 and $5,000,000. One of these mortgages carries an interest rate of 8.5%.
