Peter Todd Takes the Helm at MARA's Private Mempool Slipstream

Peter Todd, a well-known Bitcoin contributor, has joined the MARA Foundation as the lead maintainer of Slipstream, a private Bitcoin mempool service.

Slipstream allows users to send Bitcoin transactions directly to MARA Pool, the company's mining pool, without going through the public peer-to-peer network.

This service was particularly useful after hackers exploited Coldcard hardware wallets in July, stealing over $115 million in user funds.

Todd's role will involve developing and running Slipstream, which helps protect users' private keys by keeping transactions hidden until they are confirmed in a block.

Todd is a long-time contributor to Bitcoin Core and has previously co-authored BIP 125 and created OpenTimestamps.
