Physical Crypto Attacks Surge to 52 in First Half of 2026
CertiK has announced that physical crypto attacks increased to 52 in the first half of 2026, marking a significant rise compared to previous periods.
The total reported financial value of these incidents rose from $10.5 million in the first half of 2025 to $124.1 million this year.
Europe accounted for 39 of the 52 attacks, with France leading the pack at 33 events.
CertiK has recommended implementing multiple verification and withdrawal delay measures for assets like BTC ($64,016) and other cryptocurrencies to mitigate potential risks.
