Pi Network Activates Protocol 27, Sets Sights on Performance-Boosting Protocol 28

The Pi Network team has finally confirmed that Protocol 27 is live on Mainnet. Despite missing its September 15 deadline, the update was announced as completed and set a new target for October 13. Node operators are urged to upgrade their software by this date.

Protocol 28, which has already been deployed on Testnet, will focus on improving the network's performance under the hood. Key changes include addressing delays in transaction data and allowing developers to upgrade groups of smart contracts simultaneously.

The Pi Network native token, PI, experienced a brief drop in price before rebounding due to more favorable market conditions for altcoins. As of now, its price is above $0.09 with a 5.5% increase on the 24-hour scale.
