Polkadot Surges on Network Activity, Capital Inflows, and Bullish Technicals
Polkadot's price has surged over 13% in the past 24 hours, following a broader crypto market rally driven by increased short liquidations. However, the altcoin's growth is not solely dependent on the market's strength, as high network activity, capital inflows through treasury and ETFs, and a bullish technical outlook have been key factors.
Network activity has been particularly impressive, with Polkadot's Monthly Active Addresses more than doubling in September to 80.3K, up from 40K in August. The monthly token trading volume has also increased by 116%, reaching $4.70 billion, while daily transactions average 238K and have surpassed 7 million over the past 30 days.
Capital inflows have also turned positive this month, with the 21Shares Polkadot ETF (TDOT) experiencing net inflows of $663K after two months of dormancy. This indicates institutions are gradually returning to buying TDOT, potentially accelerated by the SEC's regulatory clarity on tokenization.
From a technical perspective, Polkadot is respecting a rising trendline support on the daily timeframe, with the price having bounced off the support for the third time and appearing headed towards $1.30. The Bollinger Bands are expanding, indicating increasing volatility, while the Stochastic RSI has rebounded from oversold territory, hinting at seller exhaustion.
