Polygon Burns 100M Tokens, Boosts Staking Rewards
Polygon's blockchain infrastructure continues to gain traction as its community takes steps to secure and validate transactions. According to CEO Sandeep Nailwal, the Polygon Foundation has successfully burned 100 million POL tokens, which represents about 1% of the total supply.
This move is aimed at reducing the overall token circulation and promoting a healthier economy within the ecosystem. The burn process has also led to increased network usage, resulting in higher fees for transactions.
Nailwal notes that staking rewards have been increased to up to approximately 7.7% for those securing the network over the next two months. He encourages community members who have been waiting for a sign to begin staking to take action now, as the benefits of participation are becoming more evident.
