Polygon Surpasses $3 Trillion in Transfer Volume Amid Stablecoin Settlement Push
Polygon has reached an impressive milestone in its transfer volume, surpassing $3 trillion. This significant achievement is a testament to the network's growth and expansion into stablecoin settlement and payment infrastructure.
The network's focus on stablecoin settlement has led to increased adoption, with Polygon Chain now described as settlement infrastructure for the Open Money Stack. The platform connects wallets, fiat on- and off-ramps, compliance infrastructure, and payment orchestration.
Polygon's shift towards stablecoin settlement has been accompanied by integrations with financial and payments companies. In April, Visa added the network to its global stablecoin settlement program, which accounted for 34% of USD-based stablecoin transfers and 54% of USDC transfers during that period.
The latest milestone is a substantial increase from the $2.4 trillion figure reported earlier this year. The network has processed billions of dollars in stablecoin transactions through payment and financial infrastructure providers, solidifying its position as a settlement layer for stablecoin-based payments.
