Pompliano Sees Bitcoin Securing AI-Generated Wealth
Anthony Pompliano, founder of Pomp Investments, believes Bitcoin will play a crucial role in securing wealth generated by artificial intelligence (AI). In an interview with CNBC on June 24, he shared his views on the complementary relationship between AI and Bitcoin over the next decade. According to him, Bitcoin will serve as a protective measure for the new wealth created by AI.
Pompliano dismissed the idea that AI has supplanted cryptocurrencies as the primary tech trend, saying 'An easy way to see the intersection is what money are these machines going to use?' He urges investors to adopt a long-term perspective on this technological convergence rather than viewing it from an outdated perspective.
The current market sentiment in Bitcoin is at a neutral level of 51 out of 100 according to the Crypto Fear and Greed Index, down from last week's 'Greed' rating of 71. Despite this, Pompliano remains unfazed by the 15% price drop, noting that 30% or greater pullbacks are common in bull markets.
Historical patterns suggest sideways trading in Q2 and Q3, especially in halving years, which could lead to another price rally in Q4 2024 or early 2025. Bernstein analysts project Bitcoin could reach $1 million by 2033, with a cycle-high of $200,000 by 2025, driven by spot ETF demand and limited supply.
