Premier League Funds Frozen in Sorare Crypto Sponsorship Investigation

Share

A British court granted an order to freeze $13.6 million from the Premier League's bank account, citing concerns about potential links between the funds and alleged third-party criminality.

The money was part of a four-year sponsorship agreement with Sorare, a cryptocurrency-based fantasy football platform valued at approximately $163 million.

Sorare has been accused by the UK Gambling Commission of operating gambling services without proper licensing. The company has maintained that it does not own the frozen account and contests elements of media coverage.
