Prosus Invests $100M in Indian Fintech Platform Navi at $1.3B Valuation
Dutch technology investor Prosus NV has made a significant investment in Navi, an Indian digital financial services platform. The company has received $100 million from Prosus at a valuation of approximately $1.3 billion.
Navi was founded by Sachin Bansal and Ankit Agarwal in 2018 as a bootstrapped venture using Bansal's personal wealth. After exiting Flipkart, which Walmart acquired for $16 billion in 2018, Bansal invested his wealth into building Navi as a digital-first financial services platform.
The company operates through its non-banking financial company (NBFC) arm, offering various products such as personal loans, home loans, health insurance, mutual funds, and UPI payments. The investment is pending customary regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Competition Commission of India.
