Pump.Fun Frenzy Brings UsePaid to a Standstill
UsePaid, a crypto service that converts token creator fees into dollar payments, has temporarily suspended payouts through X Money after a huge surge in activity generated by Pump.fun token launches.
The project announced the suspension on Sunday, citing payment issues and saying that existing balances remain safe while they work through the problem. Fees will continue to accrue during this time.
According to UsePaid, there was a significant increase in creator fees flowing through the protocol, with approximately $1.54 million worth of fees claimed during a single 24-hour period - roughly 26 times the amount recorded during the preceding day and exceeding the amount claimed during the entire previous seven days combined.
The project had already introduced emergency restrictions to limit payments to $750 per recipient per day before pausing X Money payments entirely. UsePaid acts as a bridge between crypto-native creator fees and conventional dollar payments, detecting tokens and periodically claiming their accumulated creator fees on-chain.
