Pump.fun Kills Cashback, Rolls Out Holder Rewards Token

Pump.fun, a Solana-based memecoin launchpad, has revamped its payment system for traders. The platform announced on September 12 that it will introduce Holder Rewards tokens while phasing out Cashback mode.

The new system routes trading fees into a dedicated distribution wallet, which pays out to token holders multiple times per hour. Token creators can choose between two configurations: a standard Creator Fee token or a Holder Rewards token, where fees are redistributed to holders on an ongoing basis.

The change aims to address the issue of inactive development teams behind high-volume tokens, which previously benefited disproportionately from Cashback rewards. Tokens meeting specific criteria set by Pump.fun can convert to the Holder Rewards structure, but this is a permanent change.
