Pump.fun Overtakes Hyperliquid in Revenue with Surge in Trading Volume
Pump.fun has surged ahead of Hyperliquid in revenue over the past 30 days, marking a significant shift in the competitive landscape of protocol earnings. Pump.fun earned $55.5 million in this period, edging out Hyperliquid's $54.34 million and securing the third spot in total earnings. The surge is attributed to renewed trading activity across Pump.fun's Solana launchpad, which generates revenue through rapid token launches and subsequent trading.
The platform's weekly revenue has also shown impressive growth, reaching $17.54 million over the past seven days. This contrasts with Hyperliquid's $11.19 million weekly revenue, widening the short-term gap. Sustained memecoin trading could reinforce Pump.fun's position, but a rapid decline in demand might shift the rankings back in Hyperliquid's favor.
Pump.fun's trading volume has skyrocketed from approximately $5 million per day in July to over $40 million in October. Daily turnover peaked at $30-$45 million in mid-August and early September, occasionally exceeding $60 million. This increase in trading volume expands Pump.fun's revenue base, as the platform earns from user activities like launching, trading, and rotating tokens.
Whale activity has further strengthened PUMP's economic narrative. Netherlol recently purchased 383.34 million PUMP valued at $2.4 million, while another wallet withdrew 189.22 million PUMP worth $1.18 million from MEXC. These withdrawals reduce the available tokens for trading, potentially tightening supply and amplifying price movements. However, renewed deposits could reverse this effect, making whale movements crucial for confirming long-term accumulation trends.
