PURR Stock Skyrockets as SEC Approves Blockchain Trading for Tokenized Equities
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced a temporary regulatory exemption for Tokenized Securities Venues, enabling them to facilitate tokenized U.S. equity trading on public blockchain infrastructure through automated market makers.
The exemption period spans five years and includes rigorous compliance requirements, including the confirmation that tokenized securities maintain equivalent rights as traditional equity instruments, such as dividend entitlements and voting privileges.
Smart contract infrastructure must be transparent, auditable, and established on permissionless blockchain networks. Corporate issuers retain the authority to oppose and prevent their securities from trading on any TSV platform.
PURR's stock price surged approximately 8% following the SEC's announcement, with market participants interpreting the firm as a primary beneficiary of the exemption.
