Pyth Surges on Oracle Landscape Shift and Risk-On Sentiment
Pyth's price surged by 3.27% in the last 18 hours due to a combination of factors, including a favorable shift in Solana's oracle landscape and a broader risk-on move across altcoins.
A recent report noted that Switchboard, a competing Solana oracle provider, ended technical support on September 25, 2026. This shift is expected to benefit Pyth as integrators migrate to alternatives like Pyth and RedStone.
The U.S. SEC and CFTC also issued updated crypto FAQs clarifying that token buybacks, network upgrades, and ongoing development work do not automatically make a token a security. This guidance is seen as slightly lowering regulatory risk for utility and infrastructure tokens, including those tied to functioning networks like Pyth.
The price movement of PYTH is also attributed to technical breakout trading with rising open interest in the asset. The 24-hour move of about +6.7% fits well within a pattern where altcoins with structural narratives outperform during risk-on days without needing their own bespoke announcement.
