Quant Wallet Moves $2 Million in Tokens Amid Price Surge
A significant Quant wallet made substantial transfers to major cryptocurrency exchanges Coinbase and Kraken. The wallet, which began with an address starting with '0x94e', had accumulated 53,632.95 QNT through exchange withdrawals between May 2019 and November 2022. This stash of tokens was valued at around $1.998 million, representing a substantial 884% paper return based on an average cost basis of $22.57 per token.
The Quant wallet transferred 4,000 QNT and 3,000 QNT into Coinbase in separate transactions, while depositing 2,000 QNT into Kraken. The tokens were valued at $222.09 each at the time of transfer. These deposits occurred between September 28th at 8:35 p.m. ET and September 29th at 9:31 p.m. ET.
The Quant token has experienced a notable price surge in recent days, increasing from around $61 on September 16th to an intraday high near $373 on September 27th before trading closer to the deposit valuation. This price movement follows the announcement of Quant's planned role in The Clearing House's On-Chain Money Initiative.
The initiative aims to provide interoperability, orchestration, and transaction-management technology for participating financial institutions. These institutions will gain access during the first six months of 2027, with links to the RTP and CHIPS payment networks. Additionally, Quant has developed a platform in the UK called Great British Tokenised Deposit, which processed live retail transactions involving several major banks.
