Quantum-Safe Bitcoin Transaction Cost Drops 79%
The estimated cost of preparing a Quantum-Safe Bitcoin transaction has dropped significantly. According to new benchmark tests, the computing cost fell by 79% to $66. This reduction is attributed to a week-long optimization challenge launched by StarkWare, Yukon Research, and Eigen Labs in September.
The challenge invited developers, researchers, and artificial intelligence agents to improve the software used for Quantum-Safe Bitcoin transactions. The effort produced 62 accepted improvements across two computational tasks.
Quantum-Safe Bitcoin is a design that uses hash-based protection against quantum attacks without changing Bitcoin's consensus rules. It was published by StarkWare researcher Avihu Levy in April and described as a last-resort measure due to its cost, complexity, and limited applicability.
