Raiffeisen Bank Enters Cryptocurrency Market through Strategic Partnership with Bitpanda

Share

The Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) has announced a strategic partnership with Bitpanda, an Austrian-based cryptocurrency exchange. This collaboration aims to integrate digital asset trading and services into the RBI's banking app across 11 central and eastern European markets.

The move marks one of the largest institutional adaptations in European retail banking history, making cryptocurrencies directly accessible to millions of customers through their familiar bank interfaces.

A pilot phase was conducted in Austria, where the Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien used Bitpanda's infrastructure to enable its clients to buy and sell cryptocurrencies within the mobile banking app. The success of this initiative paved the way for a regional expansion.
