Raoul Pal Sees Tokenization Explosion Beyond AI Compute
Macroeconomic investor Raoul Pal has echoed BlackRock's sentiments on tokenizing AI compute, but believes that the concept doesn't go far enough. According to a recent whitepaper from BlackRock, tokenized contracts and derivatives could enable autonomous AI agents to source and optimize resources in real-time.
In a separate statement, Pal emphasized that the machine economy requires tokenization on a much broader scale than just money and compute. He believes that everything will be tokenized, including identity, contracts, attention, energy, and information itself.
Pal's views align with his 2014 thesis on blockchain as a potential global ownership ledger. The financial industry has only recently begun to focus on tokenized securities, which Pal considers the first stage of a larger transition towards mass tokenization.
