RBI and Bitpanda Scale Up Crypto Partnership Across Central and Eastern Europe

Share

Bitpanda and Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) have expanded their partnership to offer digital asset services across Central and Eastern Europe. The companies will build group-wide infrastructure for RBI's subsidiary banks, covering around 18 million customers.

The phased rollout will depend on local markets and regulatory specifics of individual jurisdictions. Bitpanda Enterprise will provide RBI with the necessary infrastructure to integrate digital assets into its banking environment.

Michael Höllerer, CEO of RBI, stated that his bank is seeing growing demand for crypto assets in its markets and aims to meet it through this partnership. This expansion builds on a model first implemented in Austria, where Raiffeisen Landesbank Niederösterreich-Wien became the first traditional bank in the EU to offer cryptocurrencies directly within its banking environment.
