Real Estate Firm Bets Big on Crypto, But Can It Withdraw Its Funds?
La Rosa Holdings, a real estate services company, has taken a significant bet on cryptocurrency. According to its delayed first-quarter filing, the company has $8.14 million of digital assets in a restricted BitGo custodial account.
The majority of this balance is comprised of USDC and Frax USD, with some tokens carrying a first-priority security interest under a senior secured convertible note issued on January 8 for $11 million in principal.
However, the company's ability to withdraw these funds is uncertain due to compliance with financing agreements, which may limit its access to the assets.
In addition to this, La Rosa reported a quarterly net loss of $13.47 million and working capital that falls short of projected operating expenses for at least 12 months from issuance of the financial statements.
