Rented Hash Power Yields $200K Block Reward for Solo Miner
A solo Bitcoin miner successfully validated an entire block on Tuesday using rented computing power from Braiins, earning a reward of 3.125 BTC worth approximately $200,000 at current prices.
The miner paid around $75 for the session, which included 119,000 satoshis for renting 1 petahash per second of computing power and a small solo-mining fee.
This feat is uncommon, as only 21 solo miners have validated full blocks over the past year, collectively earning 66 BTC worth around $4.1 million at current prices.
