Revolut Customer Data Hacked via Compromised Gov't Email System

A hacking group called iamnotavillain has claimed responsibility for breaching Revolut's customer data, targeting 680 users across 31 countries.

The group used a compromised Italian government email system to pose as law enforcement and trick Revolut into handing over sensitive information, including passport numbers, selfies, and transaction histories.

The hackers first asked for Bitcoin, then later switched their demand to 6,000 Monero, worth around $3 million, threatening to sell the stolen files if they didn't receive payment within 24 hours.
