Revolut Enters Stablecoin Fray with EURR Launch

Revolut has joined the growing list of companies launching stablecoins, starting with EURR, a euro-backed token pegged to the European currency. The stablecoin will be available initially in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal through the Revolut app, allowing customers to easily move between euros and crypto.

The UK fintech aims to expand its stablecoin offerings to other currencies, but for now, EURR is a major step forward in simplifying cross-border payments and business transactions. With EURR, Revolut hopes to provide a seamless experience for its users, eliminating hidden fees and friction associated with traditional currency exchange.

The company joins an increasingly crowded field of stablecoin initiatives from major players like Visa, Klarna, and several global banks. However, the market has shown signs of fatigue, with combined market value plateauing in 2026 after rapid growth. Tether Holdings' USDT and Circle Internet Group's USDC still dominate the market, accounting for about 85% of stablecoins in circulation.
