Revolut User's $5K BTC Mistake Sends Funds to Satoshi Black Hole

A user of Revolut, a neobank focused on cryptocurrencies, accidentally sent approximately $5,000 worth of BTC to an address widely believed to belong to Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin.

According to on-chain data from Arkham Intelligence, this incident involved a series of small test transfers followed by a final, larger transaction, making the funds irretrievable.

The user initiated several small transfers from a shared Revolut hot wallet to the Satoshi address, 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa, which is known to hold the first 50 BTC ever mined and has remained untouched since its creation.

The final transfer of 0.033 BTC, valued at approximately $2,170 at the time, brought the total amount sent to around $5,000.
