Riot Platforms has paid off its $200 million loan from Coinbase Credit ahead of schedule. The Bitcoin miner made the final payment on Monday, covering both principal and accrued interest without incurring any prepayment penalties or early exit charges.

The repayment coincides with Riot's pivot towards AI data center infrastructure. As part of this shift, the company has entered into a 20-year contract worth approximately $9 billion with Anthropic to build an AI facility. This project will utilize 191MW of power from Riot's Rockdale, Texas facility.

The early settlement frees up pledged collateral, Bitcoin, USDC, and cash, previously held by Coinbase Custody Trust Company. This move aims to eliminate third-party claims against Riot's crypto and cash reserves, allowing the company to transition towards equity and self-held capital rather than asset-backed borrowing.
