Ripple Bolsters AI-Powered Payments with MPP Integration
Ripple has released an updated version of its XRPL AI Starter Kit to 1.1, incorporating support for the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) and Open Wallet Standard.
MPP is a standard co-authored by Stripe and Tempo for software agents that pay for services without a checkout flow. With this integration, developers can now build AI agents that pay for data, computing, and other online services using XRP or RLUSD, Ripple's dollar-pegged stablecoin.
Ripple's announcement emphasizes the structural significance of this move over its commercial implications at this stage. The software remains in beta, and no named commercial customers are using the new MPP integration.
