Ripple Bolsters XRPL with MPP Support and Enhanced Payment Options
Ripple has expanded its XRPL AI Starter Kit to include support for Stripe and Tempo's Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), allowing developers to use XRP, issued assets, and multi-purpose tokens for one-time MPP payments.
The integration connects XRPL to another emerging payment standard aimed at software agents, enabling a settlement rail for MPP payments. One-time payments can be made in XRP, IOUs, and multi-purpose tokens, with the available payment method depending on the asset involved.
Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin is currently only available for individual MPP transfers, not for session-based payments through XRPL payment channels. The limitation applies to non-native asset categories, including issued assets and multi-purpose tokens, until planned payment-channel support arrives.
