Ripple Expands Prime Brokerage Services for Brevan Howard
Ripple has expanded its partnership with Brevan Howard, a global alternative investment manager, to provide multi-asset prime brokerage services through Ripple Prime. Announced on October 6, 2026, the agreement allows Brevan Howard funds access to prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services across traditional and digital markets. Ripple Prime offers these services for asset classes including foreign exchange, derivatives, fixed income, and digital assets, along with portfolio financing and risk-based margin financing.
Noel Kimmel, President of Ripple Prime, highlighted the trust placed in Ripple Prime by Brevan Howard, noting it reflects the platform’s competitive position and cross-asset capabilities. Alan McGroarty, Group COO of Brevan Howard, emphasized the growing integration of digital and traditional markets, stating that Ripple Prime’s platform will enhance operational ease and capital efficiency for their investment teams.
Ripple Prime was established after Ripple acquired Hidden Road in 2025, a non-bank prime broker specializing in clearing, prime brokerage, and financing services. Since then, Ripple has expanded the platform’s capabilities, including the launch of its Delta One business in August 2026, which provides access to total return swaps across U.S.-listed equities, indices, and digital assets. The platform currently serves over 300 institutional clients and clears more than $3 trillion annually.
The expanded agreement builds on an existing financial relationship between Ripple and Brevan Howard. Funds managed by Brevan Howard participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment round in 2025, which valued Ripple at $40 billion. The latest deal strengthens Ripple’s position in institutional markets, providing infrastructure for managing positions across traditional and digital assets. However, the announcement did not specify whether Brevan Howard will use XRP or RLUSD as part of the new arrangement.
