Ripple Expands Wall Street Footprint With Brevan Howard Partnership
Ripple, the company behind the XRP cryptocurrency, has strengthened its partnership with Brevan Howard, a leading global alternative investment manager. The expanded collaboration introduces Ripple Prime, a multi-asset prime brokerage platform that provides access to clearing, financing, and brokerage services across various asset classes. This move reflects the growing demand from institutional investors for infrastructure that bridges traditional and digital assets.
Alan McGroarty, Group COO of Brevan Howard, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership, noting that Ripple Prime offers operational ease and capital efficiency. The agreement comes after Brevan Howard affiliates participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment in 2023, following Ripple’s settlement with the SEC. The latest expansion goes beyond standard client onboarding, underscoring the deepening relationship between the two firms.
Ripple Prime, acquired by Ripple for $1.25 billion and previously known as Hidden Road, is the first crypto firm to operate a global multi-asset prime broker. The platform clears over $3 trillion annually and serves more than 300 institutional clients. Recently, Ripple Prime launched a Delta One institutional trading platform, enabling hedge funds and asset managers to execute Total Return Swaps across US-listed equities, indices, and digital assets.
This partnership marks another step in Ripple’s strategy to expand beyond crypto and establish itself as a key player in Wall Street’s financial infrastructure.
