Ripple Invests in Zilo and Licuido to Unlock Institutional Tokenization
Ripple has made strategic equity investments in two UK-based firms, Zilo and Licuido, to address long-standing issues in institutional tokenization.
The investment aims to close three key gaps: collateral sitting idle, settlement taking longer than necessary, and institutions lacking a reliable path to unlock liquidity from tokenized positions.
Zilo provides regulated digital transfer agency infrastructure, while Licuido manages issuance, distribution, and execution of traditional financial assets on the XRP Ledger.
The two companies' stakes are designed to work in conjunction with Ripple's dollar-pegged stablecoin, RLUSD, which functions as a regulated cash leg for delivery-versus-payment transactions.
