Ripple Leaps Ahead of Kraken Parent Company in C1 Fund Portfolio
Ripple Labs has taken the top spot in C1 Fund's portfolio, surpassing Payward Inc., the parent company of Kraken. According to the fund's second-quarter update for the period ended June 30, Ripple represented 17.49% of C1 Fund's net assets, compared with 16.92% for Payward.
The significant increase in Ripple's portfolio weighting can be attributed to a partial share buyback conducted by the company. This transaction produced a 141.5% return on the portion of C1 Fund's Ripple investment involved in the buyback over roughly four months, as reported by C1 Fund.
This development comes as institutional interest in private digital-asset companies continues to grow, with traditional investment firms expanding their exposure to Ripple and XRP-related products. The Kinetics Internet Portfolio disclosed 1,875 Class A Ripple shares valued at approximately $246,319 as of June 30, representing roughly 0.1% of the fund's $248.3 million in net assets.
