Ripple Prime's $275M Bond Raise Hints at XRP's Emerging Role in Corporate Finance

Ripple Prime's recent $275M bond raise has analysts pointing to XRP as potential collateral for corporate financing. According to Mickle, this move could alleviate concerns over Ripple's large XRP reserves and the impact of token sales on the market.

The bond was reportedly rated BBB and carried an 8.25% coupon, with XRP involved in the underwriting process. This shift in focus from XRP sales to using it as collateral would allow Ripple to retain exposure to XRP's price while obtaining cash for acquisitions or growth plans.

Mickle also highlighted Ripple's recent hiring of a former Mastercard strategic-partnerships executive, seen as part of a broader trend of senior talent from traditional finance entering the crypto space. The analyst compared XRP's current price structure with its move from $0.30 to $3.50 during the 2024-2025 rally and pointed to sharply rising on-chain activity.
