Ripple has secured final approval from the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to establish a national trust bank. This milestone comes after receiving conditional approval last December, marking a significant step in Ripple's expansion into traditional finance.
The new bank, Ripple National Trust Bank, will be authorized to manage reserves backing the company’s stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD). Additionally, it will offer fiduciary digital-asset custody services, as stated in Ripple’s official announcement.
This development solidifies Ripple’s position in the financial sector, providing a regulatory framework for its stablecoin operations and custody services. The move is expected to enhance trust and compliance in Ripple’s offerings within the US market.
