Ripple has secured final approval from the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to establish a national trust bank, marking a significant milestone in its expansion into traditional finance. The approval follows conditional clearance granted last December for the Ripple National Trust Bank, which will now be authorized to operate fully.
The new bank will manage reserves backing Ripple’s stablecoin, RLUSD, and offer fiduciary digital-asset custody services. This move underscores Ripple’s strategic shift toward integrating more deeply with the conventional banking sector.
In a statement, Ripple emphasized the bank’s role in enhancing the stability and regulatory compliance of its financial products. The approval is expected to strengthen Ripple’s position in the rapidly evolving digital asset market.
