Ripple Strengthens Ties With Brevan Howard in Expanded Partnership
Ripple has expanded its partnership with Brevan Howard, a global alternative investment firm managing $35 billion in assets. The collaboration will see Ripple Prime offer multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services to Brevan Howard's funds. This move simplifies Brevan Howard's operations by allowing them to access various markets through a single prime brokerage infrastructure.
Prime brokers play a crucial role in supporting large investment firms by facilitating trades, managing collateral, and clearing deals. With Ripple Prime, Brevan Howard can streamline its capital management across traditional and crypto markets, including digital assets, foreign exchange, derivatives, swaps, and fixed income. Ripple claims to clear over $3 trillion annually through its platform and serves more than 300 institutional clients.
Alan McGroarty, COO of Brevan Howard Group, emphasized the need for digital asset infrastructure that integrates seamlessly with existing operations. However, the announcement did not mention any plans for Brevan Howard to invest in Ripple's XRP or use its RLUSD stablecoin. The partnership focuses solely on adopting Ripple's institutional brokerage infrastructure.
This collaboration follows a previous investment round in November 2025, where Brevan Howard affiliates were among the investors in Ripple's $500 million strategic equity investment. Other prominent financial firms also participated in that round.
