Ripple Unlocks $1.47 Billion in XRP Tokens Amid Predictable Monthly Schedule

Ripple is on the cusp of unlocking its next batch of XRP tokens, set to release approximately $1.47 billion worth of cryptocurrency on October 1.

This marks the tenth such unlock for Ripple this year and continues the company's long-standing monthly schedule introduced in 2017.

While the total amount unlocked is 1 billion XRP, not all of it typically enters circulation as Ripple often returns most of the tokens to new escrow contracts.

According to Finbold, the actual increase in potentially circulating XRP has generally been closer to 200 million to 300 million tokens per month rather than the full amount unlocked.
