Ripple's Alderoty: Crypto Should Complement Traditional Finance

Share

Ripple's Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty emphasizes that cryptocurrency is designed to complement traditional finance, not replace it.

In an interview on the Crypto In America podcast, Alderoty stressed that crypto should make financial services broader and more inclusive by integrating with existing systems rather than attempting to displace them.

Alderoty believes the key to mainstream adoption is making the technology useful and seamless for users. He points to Walmart checkouts where consumers can already choose among debit cards, credit cards, gift cards, or crypto wallets as an example of how crypto can be a practical choice.

Alderoty also emphasized that consumers do not need to understand blockchain mechanics; the technology should operate quietly in the background while users enjoy a smoother payment experience.
