Ripple's RLUSD Stablecoin Surpasses $2 Billion Market Capitalization

Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin has reached a market capitalization of over $2 billion in less than two years since its launch in December 2024.

The milestone was announced by Ripple, which stated that the threshold was reached after the issuance of nearly $1 billion of circulating RLUSD on the XRP Ledger. CoinGecko estimated the stablecoin market cap at $2.11 billion later in August.

Ripple's transparency reports show that on August 20, days before the RLUSD supply passed $2 billion, the reserve was $1.981 billion with $1.866 billion RLUSD in circulation. The company intends RLUSD to be used for payments, trading, tokenized assets, and institutional finance.
