Robinhood Chain Breaks Volume Records as UNI and ARB Soar
The cryptocurrency market has seen significant gains in the last month, with altcoins experiencing double-digit rallies. Uniswap's UNI token is up 39.1%, while Arbitrum's ARB token more than doubled, reaching its highest price level since early January.
This surge can be attributed to the Robinhood Chain, which has become the largest fee-generating chain in crypto and is closely tied to both Uniswap and Arbitrum. The cumulative DEX volume on the chain has surpassed $40 billion, with daily chain revenue exceeding $4 million.
Uniswap's dominance on the Robinhood Chain is particularly notable, as it earns more per dollar traded on this network than anywhere else. The exchange takes 0.465% of every dollar traded on the Robinhood network, compared to 0.214% across its other networks.
The fee switch implemented by Uniswap has also had a significant impact, as fees are now used to buy and burn UNI tokens, permanently removing them from circulation. This creates a self-reinforcing cycle where more Robinhood users generate more Uniswap volume, which in turn generates more fees that burn more UNI.
Arbitrum's connection to the Robinhood Chain works differently, as it sends back 10% of its net protocol revenue under the Arbitrum Expansion Program. However, this revenue is split between the Arbitrum DAO treasury and developer guild, rather than being distributed directly to ARB holders.
