Robinhood Chain Fees Plummet 97% as Speculative Trading Cools
Robinhood Chain's network fees have plummeted by approximately 97% from their early-September peak, despite transaction volumes holding steady. The collapse in fee revenue is attributed to a sharp decline in speculative trading activity on the platform.
In mid-August, Robinhood Chain was one of the most expensive and active networks in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, with users paying an average of 64 cents per transaction. However, as the memecoin trading boom subsided, fees dropped dramatically to around 2.6 cents per transaction by September 16.
Despite this decline, the platform's underlying transaction volume remains robust, with 8.9 million transactions recorded on September 16 alone. This suggests that the network's capacity and fee-stabilization mechanisms are functioning as intended, rather than suffering from a mass user exodus.
