Robinhood Shares Surge $7.6 Billion on Bitcoin Rally
Rain from the crypto market's storm helped Robinhood's (HOOD) shares rise 8.2% on August 25, a gain that added $7.6 billion to its market capitalization.
The surge in bitcoin prices, reaching $81,237.94 before falling back under $80,400, provided the initial momentum for the rally.
Robinhood's share price increase boosted its quoted equity value by around $7.62 billion, calculated from 899.08 million shares in circulation.
The company's single-day increase in equity value was roughly 76 times higher than the $100 million earned from crypto transactions in the last quarter.
