Robinhood Unveils Agentic Trading and Perpetual Futures in HOOD Summit Push
Retail investors received some of the news they wanted on Wednesday as Robinhood announced several new features at its HOOD Summit, including AI-powered trading agents and perpetual futures. The move is part of a broader effort by the company to become the top platform for active traders.
Morgan Stanley was impressed with the announcements, calling agentic trading and U.S. perps the 'two key products' it was watching. Analyst Michael Cyprys held an 'Overweight' rating on Robinhood shares alongside a $150 price target, implying roughly 30% upside from current levels.
Rival analysts at Deutsche Bank and KeyBanc also viewed Robinhood's active-trading as a positive catalyst, reiterating their 'Buy' ratings with respective targets of $134 and $140. The HOOD stock itself fell by 1.6% in morning trade, but retail sentiment around the company improved to 'neutral' from the 'bearish' zone.
The new trading agents will be able to analyze markets, build strategies, and execute trades on a user's behalf around the clock. Perpetual futures for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) will offer up to 10 times leverage, while other assets will have 3 times leverage. The launch of these features is expected in the coming months.
