Robinhood Unveils AI Trading Agents and Perpetual Futures

Robinhood has introduced several new trading features at its HOOD Summit event in Houston, Texas. The announcements include AI trading agents, crypto perpetual futures, and weekend trading for US stocks. Robinhood's stock rose to $116.21 following the announcements.

The centerpiece of the announcement is Robinhood Agents, an AI trading assistant built directly into the app. Customers can create a dedicated agentic trading account and choose from providers including OpenAI. The agent will research markets, build strategies, and place trades automatically, but trade approvals are switched on by default.

Robinhood also announced perpetual futures for eligible US customers, a derivative product with no expiration date. Traders will be able to take long or short positions on several assets, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, Dogecoin (DOGE), Cardano (ADA), Chainlink (LINK) and Hyperliquid (HYPE). The contracts will be offered by Robinhood Derivatives through Bitstamp.
