Robinhood Unveils AI Trading Agents, Crypto Perps, and Weekend Stock Trading
Robinhood has unveiled its most ambitious push yet to become the go-to platform for active traders. At its HOOD Summit in Houston, Texas, the company announced several new features aimed at attracting a more advanced trading crowd.
The star of the show is Robinhood Agents, a service that allows customers to connect AI models from OpenAI or Anthropic to a dedicated trading account. This enables users to instruct their agent in plain English to research markets, build watchlists, and place orders across stocks, options, and digital assets.
The company also introduced crypto perpetual futures with leverage for eligible U.S. customers through Robinhood Derivatives and Bitstamp. These contracts will support leverage of up to 10 times for Bitcoin and ether, while other supported assets will be capped at three times.
Rounding out the announcements is an expansion of the company's equity offering. Robinhood now plans to offer a selection of U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds on Saturdays and Sundays through Bruce ATS, creating a seven-day trading environment for certain securities.
