Robinhood's Ethereum Choice Drives $5,000 Ether Price Target
Arthur Hayes, CEO of Flop Labs and CIO of Maelstrom, spoke at EastPoint: Seoul 2026 on September 28. He emphasized Ethereum's security after Robinhood chose it as a security layer for its tokenization platform.
This decision makes it easier for other institutions to argue internally that they should use Ethereum too, said Hayes. The shift could lead to Ether reaching $5,000 within about a year, nearly doubling from the current level of around $2,650.
Hayes also discussed Ethena and the USDe stablecoin. He noted that while the token price fell due to declining Bitcoin basis yields, the near-term outlook is not bleak. Basis yields are rising again, which could help increase the gap between yields available through Ethena and U.S. Treasuries.
He added that after contracting, USDe supply is increasing again, potentially creating momentum to push the Ethena token from around $0.27 to $1.
