Russian-Language Crypto Media Marks 15 Years of Growth

The story of Bitcoin Security, now celebrating its 15th anniversary, began with a simple website explaining what Bitcoin is and how mining works. Initially intended to focus on safe storage of bitcoins and protection of transactions, the project's plans shifted due to the changing landscape in Russia.

In 2014, the prosecutor's office sued several domains, including, for disseminating information about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The team fought back, believing their position was correct, and eventually won the case after six months.

During its early years, the project used Bitcoins as a payment method, with rewards given to authors who made significant contributions to discussions or spread information about Bitcoin on other forums.
