Russia's Moscow Exchange Expands Crypto Derivatives with Perpetual Futures
Moscow Exchange (MOEX) is expanding its crypto derivatives offering to meet growing demand for regulated digital-asset exposure in Russia.
Starting September 22nd, qualified investors will have access to perpetual futures linked to Bitcoin [BTC], Ethereum [ETH], Solana [SOL], Ripple [$XRP], and Tron [TRX] indices. This addition builds on the success of MOEX's existing crypto futures offerings, which have attracted over 72,000 qualified investors since their launch last summer.
The perpetual contracts will automatically renew daily, eliminating the need for traders to close positions at the end of each trading day. This feature makes them more suitable for ongoing hedging and speculation, potentially increasing trading activity on MOEX.
While the expansion may attract more liquidity into the derivatives market, the professional-only structure could limit the potential volume due to concentrated liquidity among qualified accounts.
