S&P Global Buys OpenZeppelin in Crypto Push

Share

S&P Global has made a significant move into the crypto space by acquiring OpenZeppelin, a leading smart contract security firm. Founded in 2015, OpenZeppelin has completed over 900 security audits to date. The deal allows S&P Global to expand its risk analysis capabilities into on-chain markets, strengthening trust in tokenized finance as institutional blockchain adoption grows.

The acquisition is seen as a strategic move by S&P Global to tap into the growing demand for decentralized finance (DeFi) and blockchain solutions. OpenZeppelin will continue to operate independently under CEO Demian Brener, with no plans to alter its business model or operations.
